"My name is Pierre Naudé and I am a Marriage Officer, appointed by the Church and by the State. I conduct weddings for Fundisa Weddings in the Krugerpark area, where there are a number of first class Game Lodges.
Each time there is a spectacular view, a magnificent tree or something special that makes this the ideal spot to enter into married life together.

The services that I offer allow you to choose between a Christian ceremony or a non-religious ceremony. In both ceremonies I have certain legal requirements to perform, I say a few words as Minister or Marriage Officer (whichever is appropriate) and lead you through your vows and the exchange of rings.

There are some special choices that you can make, those personal touches to make this the wedding of your dreams!

  1. Some people (particularly from The Netherlands and Belgium) like me to speak some Afrikaans; an African language for an African wedding.
  2. Most couples include Traditional African Wedding Gifts in the ceremony. These gifts, the equivalent of the wedding ring in Western culture, are used by most of the tribes in Africa. They have a cultural meaning (rather than a religious one) and I work them into the ceremony in an enjoyable way before you exchange wedding rings.
  3. You may like to make your own vows to each other, something special and personal that you have wanted to save for your wedding day, a moment to speak, perhaps, in your home language.

I wear bush-clothes with an African design rather than a suit; somehow the setting seems to make this less formal and stiff but there will be no doubt that you have been properly married!"
